This position requires experience working with Clinical Systems or Clinical Trials applications in the Pharma or Biotech industry.

The right candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to interact with all levels of Business Community.

Senior Business Systems Analyst

This is an opportunity to join our select team that is already leading the way in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry. 

Under direction of CDRA Systems Business Relationship Manager for CPMO (Clinical Project Management and Operations), responsible for complex analysis and solution definition for Information Technology Projects in the area of Clinical Trials Operations and/or Quality Management. Individual will work closely with CDRA Systems team and the client community to identify business/process requirements translate them into technical specifications. Proven ability to formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business processes and systems to support Clinical Trial Operations. The majority of Projects are COTS software package implementation and integration with other on systems. Therefore, an extensive, demonstrable understanding of the process of specifying, identifying and implementing COTS software is required.   Responsibilities:

  • Understands the business issues and data challenges of CPMO organization.
  • Identifies client organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement according to functionality of applications.
  • Gathers client information to create clear, concise, and complete business requirements, specifications, business processes and suggests recommendations.
  • Evaluate user requirements and propose optimal solutions (i.e. "buy or build").
  • Determines the effects of changes in business process on existing applications.
  • Leads testing efforts by managing test execution, issues, and communicates changes to business users and development team.  Develops test plans and executes test scripts when needed.
  • Conducts testing according to plan.
  • Will work closely with IT management and the clients to identify and specify business solutions and processes in diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools.
  • Reviews the functionality of business systems to ensure that it continues to satisfy users varying needs. With direction, performs business process improvement and enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Provide Project Management for Projects as required.
  • Communicates and applies project standards.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent Communication (Verbal and Written), analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Possesses substantial experience in gathering requirements and business analysis and complete understanding and application of industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle.
  • A demonstrated ability in creation of requirements and design documents and test scripts.
  • Must be competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of system design and implementation and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • A track record of handling multiple projects and priorities with advanced judgment and time management skills (both project and self).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and CFR Part 11 compliance
  • Strong knowledge of technologies such as Veeva, SharePoint, Medidata and/or off-the-shelf software products for Clinical Trial Management and/or Quality Management
  • Expert in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio)
